As promised, this week will be devoted to the Goodness of The Good Place
.
What: Tahnai Al-Jamil, a "hot, rich fraud" who
name-drops every time she talks, is not written to be likable or relatable. And yet -- Jameela Jamil, in her
first acting role, brings a level of vulnerability that keeps Tahani's charm from edging over to smarm.
Also, the writers get to channel
a lot of British shade through Tahani's posh nonsense.
How to get it: Stream
season 1 on Netflix and
season 2 on Hulu (until the end of the month).
